Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026 · Global

This Privacy Policy explains how Benno TV ("Benno TV", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Benno TV application, website, account services, device activation services, and related features (collectively, the "Service").

Benno TV does not sell media content. It is a media player and content-management application. The personal data described here relates to operation of the app, accounts, activation, subscriptions, support, security, and the website — not to the sale of television channels, movies, series, radio stations, or streams.

1. Information we process

Account and identity data

When account functionality is used, we may process information such as your email address, account identifier, authentication status, account creation time, and related account records. We use this information to create and secure your account, authenticate you, provide account features, and associate eligible purchases or subscriptions with your account.

Device and activation data

We may process a device or installation identifier, device type, operating-system and app version, activation status, timestamps, and similar technical information needed to register devices, enforce plan/device limits, prevent abuse, troubleshoot activation, and provide the Service.

Subscription and transaction data

We may receive transaction identifiers, product or plan information, purchase and renewal dates, subscription status, cancellation or refund status, and similar billing metadata from our payment provider. We do not need to receive or store your full payment-card number when payment is processed by Paddle.

Support communications

If you contact us, we process the information you provide, such as your email address, message, diagnostic information you choose to send, and correspondence history, so that we can respond and resolve your request.

Technical and security data

Our systems and hosting providers may process technical logs such as IP address, request time, app or browser version, device or operating-system information, security events, and server logs where necessary to operate, protect, diagnose, and maintain the Service.

Playlists, source credentials and viewing data

Benno TV lets you configure your own media sources, including M3U, Xtream Codes-compatible sources, MAC Portal sources, and local media. These sources are supplied by you and are not media services provided by Benno TV. Benno TV processes source information as needed for app functionality and to connect to the source you selected. We do not claim ownership of your playlists or third-party content.

We will update this section before commercial launch if production backend features cause playlist URLs, provider credentials, viewing history, favorites, search data, EPG data, or other source-related information to be transmitted to or stored on Benno TV-operated servers.

2. Why we process personal data and our legal bases

Legal bases vary by jurisdiction. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we generally rely on:

  • Contractual necessity to create and operate accounts, activate devices, provide paid or trial features, and maintain subscription entitlements.
  • Legitimate interests to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose failures, maintain reliability, and improve essential product operations, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligations where processing is required for tax, accounting, consumer-protection, law-enforcement, or other legal requirements.
  • Consent where required for optional analytics, non-essential tracking, marketing communications, or similar processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it as provided by applicable law.

3. Payments and Paddle

Website purchases are planned to be processed by Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record for those transactions. Paddle processes payment details, billing information, taxes, fraud-prevention information, and transaction data under its own legal responsibilities and privacy notice. Benno TV receives the transaction and entitlement information needed to activate and manage your Benno TV access.

4. Service providers and data sharing

We may use carefully selected providers for functions such as hosting, database infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, payment processing, security, customer support, and technical operations. They may process personal information only as necessary for their role and subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the Service, to investigate fraud or security incidents, or in connection with a legitimate corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information for money.

5. Crash reporting — Firebase Crashlytics

Benno TV uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to identify, diagnose, and resolve application crashes, non-fatal errors, and stability problems. Crashlytics may automatically process crash stack traces, relevant application state at the time of a crash, relevant device metadata, and a Crashlytics installation identifier. Depending on how Benno TV configures crash reporting, selected developer-defined technical events, diagnostic keys, and logs may also be included in a report.

We use Crashlytics for the security, reliability, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Benno TV. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we generally rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and stable application, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Sensitive media-source information: Benno TV is designed not to intentionally send M3U playlist URLs, Xtream Codes usernames or passwords, MAC Portal credentials, or full media-stream URLs to Firebase Crashlytics. Developer-defined Crashlytics logs and diagnostic fields should contain only the technical information needed to identify and resolve application problems.

Firebase Crashlytics is provided by Google. Google generally processes Firebase customer data as a processor or service provider under applicable Firebase data-processing terms. For more information, see Firebase Privacy and Security.

Analytics

Benno TV does not currently use Firebase Analytics as part of this Crashlytics decision. If we later introduce Firebase Analytics or another non-essential analytics or tracking service, this Privacy Policy will be updated and consent controls will be provided where required by applicable law.

6. Website storage, cookies and similar technologies

The current Benno TV website may use browser session storage for functional purposes, such as remembering that the introductory animation has already been shown during the current browser session. If we introduce cookies, analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking technologies, we will provide the notices and consent controls required by applicable law.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining account and subscription records, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and satisfying legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations. Retention periods may differ by data category and jurisdiction. Data that is no longer required will be deleted, anonymized, or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable law.

8. International data transfers

Because Benno TV may be offered globally and may use service providers in different countries, personal data may be processed outside your country of residence. Where data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use an applicable legal mechanism such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another recognized safeguard. We do not rely merely on your use of the Service as blanket consent for international transfers where the law requires another transfer mechanism.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing; to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis; and to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority. Some jurisdictions may provide additional rights, including rights concerning certain disclosures or uses of personal information.

To exercise a privacy right, contact support@bennotv.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse. No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Children

Benno TV is not directed to young children and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children who cannot lawfully provide it. Age and parental-consent requirements differ by country. Where applicable law requires parental or guardian authorization for a child's use of an online service or for consent-based data processing, that authorization is required. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to applicable law, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

12. Third-party content and links

The Service may connect to sources or websites selected by you or contain links to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Benno TV is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated version with a new effective date and provide additional notice for material changes where required by law.

14. Contact
